Appearance on Dutch Radio Channel BNR about Job and Career Crafting - December 13th, 2022
On December 13th, 2022, I was invited to share my perspectives on the topic of job and career crafting on the Dutch radio channel BNR Newsradio. This channel has a program called "Werkverkenners" (work explorers), which focuses on all kinds of timely topics related to work and careers. This particular episode focused on how people can make changes to their work and who benefits from this. We had a lively discussion about this topic, for example, about how employers are sometimes afraid to stimulate job and career crafting behaviors because they fear that everyone will ditch the most annoying tasks (in the case of job crafting) or leave the company (in the case of career crafting). My input focused on providing a more nuanced perspective, arguing that scientific research generally supports the value of job and career crafting.
