New Article about Career Proactivity
Together with Andreas Hirschi, I published a brief article in Applied Psychology about career proactivity. The article is part of a special collection about career proactivity, consisting of a bibliometric analysis and several invited articles that respond to it. In the lead article, Jiang et al. (2023) present the outcomes of an extensive literature search on career proactivity using a bibliometric review approach. Based on their article, Andreas and I wrote a response with several theoretical and conceptual reflections. Among other things, we urge researchers to clarify what exactly career proactivity is (and what it is not). Moreover, we call for more research on how and why career proactivity may impact (career) outcomes.
