New Paper: Building a Sustainable Start
Our paper entitled "Building a sustainable start: The role of career competencies, career success, and career shocks in young professionals' employability" has just been published online in the Journal of Vocational Behavior. This is the first paper of Rowena Blokker's PhD thesis, which makes it an extra special publication for our team!
In the paper, we show that young professionals with higher levels of career competencies, experience more career success and, ultimately, higher employability. Furthermore, we show that career shocks - major, often unexpected events that occur in peoples' careers - have an important role to play in this process. Specifically, positive career shocks strengthen the process, whereas negative career shocks undermine the process.
